General (civil) common law
We have experience across a broad spectrum of general common law work, including personal injury, housing (both public and private), civil actions against the police, consumer and personal contract, holiday law, road traffic/credit hire and miscellaneous torts (such as harassment and nuisance).

Members of chambers of a broad spectrum of seniority, from the most junior tenants to the head of chambers, are available to undertake cases in the County Courts, the High Court and beyond. A number of members accept conditional fee instructions in appropriate cases.
Some members of chambers have represented professionals, such as solicitors and veterinary surgeons, before their professional disciplinary bodies, and some members of chambers have developed particular expertise in the fields of credit hire and holiday law. Criminal injuries compensation work is also undertaken.
Additionally, because of our extensive experience in criminal law, we are able to deal particularly effectively with those difficult civil cases that involve allegations of dishonesty or criminal conduct: our civil expertise enables us to make the delicate judgment as to when to make such allegations at all, and our criminal expertise enables us to be able to pursue them effectively when we do. Some members of chambers are regularly instructed in such cases. Furthermore, because of their criminal experience, our junior members who practise civil law have far more experience of live advocacy than those of equivalent seniority who practise civil law exclusively, and our more senior members have extensive experience of jury trials, making them ideally suited to civil cases involving juries.
Notable civil cases in which members of chambers have been involved so far include:
